Experience the intersection of art, storytelling, and healing. The Arthropy Art-A-Thon is a one-night creative immersion featuring the debut of Beauty and Her Beast by TeiannaReAl, a spoken word and music journey through mental health, faith, and transformation.
Hosted by Glenn North, this intimate night at The Blue Room will feature a live band, DJ, and a Jazz Poetry Jam–style open mic with a $100 prize for the standout performer of the evening. Guests can also browse and shop from local artisanal vendors while enjoying the sounds and stories that connect us all.

Teiannareal – Featured Artist
TeiannaReAL Cooper is a powerhouse poet, author, and visionary known for her transformative artistry and dynamic community impact. With a voice that captivates and messages that ignite change, she has performed, hosted, and curated events across the country, leaving audiences inspired and eager for more. As the founder of Adeht Consulting and Publishing and TeiannaReAL Enterprises, a multifaceted creative collective dedicated to art, business, and community empowerment, she creates groundbreaking opportunities for artists while mentoring the next generation of creatives. Her acclaimed works, including Barbarian Cravings and Heavenly Souls and Beauty and Her Beast embody healing, empowerment, and unapologetic truth. A BMI-registered songwriter with credits spanning genres, she bridges the worlds of poetry and music with unparalleled depth.
TeiannaReAL’s performances, blending original poetry, music, and storytelling, deliver unforgettable experiences that foster collaboration and connection. Drawing inspiration from her grandfather, blues legend Albert King, she embodies a legacy of excellence while carving her own path as a sought-after artist, speaker, and curator. Currently pursuing her Doctorate in Leadership of Organizations at the University of Dayton, with graduation anticipated in November 2026, she continues to expand her artistry into realms of research, leadership, and healing-centered transformation.

Glenn North – Host
Glenn has more than 20 years of experience in museum education along with working with numerous arts and culture institutions and nonprofit organizations. Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, he attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri, majoring in English and completed his undergraduate degree in English at Rockhurst University. He later received a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing with an emphasis in poetry at the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
Glenn’s career in museums began in 2003 at the American Jazz Museum as the Poet-in-Residence and Education Manager. In 2013, he became the Director of Education and Public Programs at the Black Archives of Mid-America. Prior to joining the Kansas City Museum staff, Glenn was the Executive Director of Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center and Museum. His interest in poetry and youth advocacy led him to establish the Kansas City chapter of the Louder Than A Bomb Youth Poetry Festival while also serving as the festival’s Artistic Director. He is the author of City of Song, a collection of poems inspired by Kansas City’s rich jazz tradition. He is a Cave Canem fellow, a Callaloo creative writing fellow, and a recipient of the Charlotte Street Generative Performing Artist Award. His ekphrastic and visual poems have appeared in art exhibitions at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the American Jazz Museum, the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Kansas City Museum. Glenn is also an adjunct English professor at Rockhurst University and is currently filling his appointment as the Poet Laureate of the 18th & Vine Historic Jazz District.
